About

Kristen Simons, LCPC, CADC, RYT (she/her)

Hello again, thanks for being here.  I hope that even if we never meet, something on my website sparks inspiration or hope for you. I've been in your position-trying to find a therapist that is a "good fit."  I want you to know that you and your story matter and it is important that you find a therapist who you truly connect with.

I have over 10 years of clinical experience in a variety of mental health settings with a variety of folks.  I have a passion for supporting clients who are navigating anxiety around life transitions, such as parenting, pregnancy, job or career changes, and identity/values exploration.  We as humans often find it challenging to attune to our own physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while in the midst of everyday stressors.  If you're open and willing to gain self-awareness, be a little uncomfortable, practice whole body regulation, and learn some new skills, I invite you to contact me to see how we can work together to get you there.

My therapeutic style is conversational, curious, and empathic with some gentle challenging.  I am an active listener, offering feedback, asking questions, and providing education or exploration of coping skills.  Expect laughter, tears, conversation, and insight.  Therapy can be serious, AND it can be fun--ultimately I want you to walk away with relateable and realistic tools for YOUR life.

Yoga & Life

In addition to being a mental health professional, I am a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and have a special interest in guiding clients and students through the intersection of mind, body, and spirit. As a society, we often live "from head up," and I find it extremely important to create a sense of embodiment that allows for a full physical, emotional, and spiritual healing experience.

I currently teach classes and facilitate a postpartum support and embodiment group at Grateful Yoga in Evanston.  I also offer private therapeutic yoga sessions virtually and in office.

Outside of therapy and yoga, I am an avid house plant lover, cat mom, and recipe attempter, but my favorite role is being mom to two amazing little humans.
